It’s hard to talk about real things like losses. I have lost a good friend to cancer, she was a soul mate. I met her in my beloved Vava’u and the first thing that struck me about her was her loud Sherk laughter, it was her signature:).
We clicked straight away and remained good friends for 15 years. Then recently this brilliant woman got sick and within 2 weeks was gone.
The thing that saddens me is that she had a huge list of things to do, and she thought she had the time to do them.
Reflecting on the lessons I gained on life through my mourning is this; movement & Change are key to happiness, and often times staying in ‘ unhappy situations’ can literally make you sick, no matter what positive spin you put on it. Sometimes the best thing to do is to make a fresh start, big change by embracing the mystery of opportunities yet unknown.
Being brave means big changes, leaving old and stale energy behind, knowing that there are freshness and joy in the unknown.
Don’t let fear steal your life from you, it can keep you a prisoner in a joyless space. Choose to step into the unknown with faith that will bring you happiness.
Because at the end of the day that’s what it’s about ‘Keeping Happy’:)!
